PERFORMANCE CONTRACTING COORDINATOR

Performance Contracting is part of broader public sector reforms aimed at improving efficiency and effectiveness in the management of the Public Service. Performance Contract (PC) is a management tool for measuring performance against negotiated performance targets. Since inception and adoption of PC, Nairobi Technical Training Institute has witnessed tremendous growth and clear evidence of improvement in service delivery. 

Nairobi Technical Training Institute is committed to offering quality services to its customers in order to achieve its vision of being a Market Leader in Technical and Vocational Training. To enhance its operational effectiveness, the institute signs a performance contract with the Directorate of Performance Contracting through the Ministry of Education. In the contract the institute establishes a shared understanding of what is to be achieved and how it will be achieved.

The Institute states in the Performance Contract its key result areas and the expected level of performance and makes the Institute accountable to its customers who are mainly our students. It helps ensure that services to our customers are timely, cost effective, efficient and enhances accountability.

Under performance contracting the institute ensures;

• Corruption eradication

• Environmental sustainability

• Compliance with laws affecting the institutes operations

• Gender mainstreaming

• Disability mainstreaming

• Effective handling of complaints

At the same time the Institute has a strategic plan from which it draws the performance contract. The strategic plan makes a long term projection of the Institute's development agenda.
